Erasmus is set to finish his stint at Thomond Park at the end of December, so it’s believed that Van Graan – who has formerly worked with the Bulls — will have the chance to work alongside him for a period.
“Van Graan, or ‘Aap’ as his friends like to call him, has no experience as a Director of Rugby or head coach, but is highly regarded within South African playing circles for his detailed analysis and relationship-building with players,” writes Gerry Thornley.
Fellow South African Dave Wessels was highly tipped for the job, but it appears that he’ll stay in Australia.
