AIDAN O’BRIEN’S Order of St George left the pack trailing in his wake as he stormed to victory in the Irish St Leger at the Curragh.
It was his second time to win the race, after succeeding in 2015, and he had nine lengths to spare in the end.
Despite going into last year’s race as the 1-7 favourite, he suffered heartahce at the hands of Wicklow Brave.
But there was to be no disappointment this time around, as his rider Ryan Moore made the charge for victory at the last turn for home.

Torcedor was the first of the chasing pack to come home in second place, with Mount Moriah taking third.
Speaking to RTÉ Sport after the victory, a delighted O’Brien said:
“He’s an unbelievable horse. He has class; you saw what he did in the Arc last year, he handles all grounds and he can stay as far as two and a half miles.
“He has the choice of returning for the Arc this year or going to the Melbourne Cup. We’ll think about that and the lads will decide.
“I suppose the Arc might be the favoured option, but we’ll see. He’d be very comfortable over a mile and a half if there is an ease in the ground at Chantilly.”
Elsewhere at the Curragh racecourse on Sunday, Happily defeated stablemate Magical to win the Moyglare Stud Stakes.
Verbal Dexterity romped home to victory in the Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes.
