CORK’S BID TO win back the All-Ireland senior camogie title has been dealt a blow, with the omission of injured defender Gemma O’Connor from the starting XV for Sunday’s final.
It was expected that O’Connor would fail to be fit for selection, with Eimear O’Sullivan coming in to replace her.
O’Connor limped off with a knee injury in the second half of her side’s All-Ireland semi-final victory over Galway, having previously sustained an ankle problem.
Cork boss Paudie Murray subsequently told the Evening Echo that he was forced to rule her out of selection for the rematch against the Cats.

A statement from Cork camogie confirms that hopes of her regaining her fitness before Sunday appear to have been dashed.
Meanwhile, captain Rena Buckley will lead the side from full-back while Ashling Thompson and Orla Cotter also get the nod for the crunch tie in Croke Park [throw-in, 4pm].
