ANTHONY JOSHUA WILL defend his IBF and WBA belts next month, with Irish fans awaiting news of a possible world title shot for Katie Taylor on the Cardiff undercard.
Joshua will put his world heavyweight titles on the line against Bulgarian opponent Kubrat Pulev, after defeating Wladimir Klitschko in April to claim the WBA strap.
Thirty-six-year-old Pulev is the mandatory challenger for Joshua’s IBF title at the Principality Stadium on 28 October.
But she remains in contention for a spot on the revised Joshua fight card which is scheduled to take place at the 74,500-seater ground.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Joshua said that he’s itching to get back in the ring following the Klitschko victory.
“I have been eager to get back in the ring since Wembley.
“I’ll be locked away focusing on fight number 20 for the next eight weeks. I am excited to experience the atmosphere in a sold-out Principality Stadium and aim to give the fans a spectacular night.”
Pulev’s only professional defeat came at the hands of Klitschko in 2015.
