Updated at 6.35am.

IT’S SHAPING UP to be an exciting Saturday evening in Croke Park, with a tasty double-header down for decision.

football qfs1 Monaghan, Down, Kildare and Armagh are all in action.

The first of the two Round 4B clashes will see battle lines renewed as beaten Ulster finalists Down face Monaghan [Throw-in 5pm, live on Sky Sports Arena].

The Farney were raging-hot favourites to seal their fourth provincial decider spot in five years last month, but Down upset the odds to win by two points and progress.

Malachy O’Rourke’s outfit will be gunning for another crack at the Mournemen, and have a statement to make after they survived a gutsy battle with Carlow two weeks ago.

Off the back of their Leinster final defeat to Dublin, Cian O’Neill’s Kildare will go head-to-head with Armagh for a place in the quarter-finals [Throw-in 7pm, live on Sky Sports Arena].

Kieran McGeeney is preparing to face his former side, with the Orchard county having dismissed Fermanagh, Westmeath and Tipperary through the back-door route to date.

We’re at the business end of proceedings now though, with two All-Ireland quarter-final spots rewarded to the victors.
