IT WAS A relatively quiet day in terms of general classification as Edvald Boasson Hagen took the 19th stage of the Tour de France; attacking from the breakaway with just over three kilometres to go.
The Norwegian had already lost two stages on photo finishes during this year’s Tour and left nothing to chance in Salon-de-Provence, gliding home five seconds ahead of Nikias Arndt.

Ireland’s Dan Martin still trails fifth-place Fabio Aru by just over a minute and race leader Chris Froome by just under three after finishing in the bunch today alongside the general classification contenders.
Indeed, such was the relative ease with which the peloton took today’s stage — following a gruelling two days in the Alps — there was no change at all in the top-1o with Froome remaining 23 seconds clear of Romain Bardet.
Tomorrow’s penultimate stage is a 22.5km time-trial starting and finishing in Marseille’s Velodrome stadium; leaving little chance for any of his rivals to catch the Team Sky rider.
