McGeady's electric form at Preston continues as he hits a cracker

The Ireland international’s 8th goal of the season came against Huddersfield.

AND SO AIDAN McGeady’s flying form at Preston continues.

The Ireland winger opened the scoring against Huddersfield earlier, and the goal was nothing short of a belter.

After picking up the ball, he drove at any defenders in his path before rattling the net with a thumping strike into the top corner.

His 8th goal of the season for the Championship side was top-quality anyway.

Huddersfield then hit two goals back-to-back, before Jordan Hugill pulled one back for Preston.

Huddersfield had the last say however, as Colin Quaner’s stoppage-time winner made it 3-2, and has all but ended Preston’s bid for a top six squad.

There was no shortage of drama, as Quaner slotted in on the rebound on 96 minutes after Aaron Mooy’s penalty was saved. The penalty was awarded for an off-the-ball incident.

Daryl Horgan came on as a substitute as the clock ran down.

Meanwhile, former Ireland U21 Tommie Hoban was the hero for Blackburn as his late header at Nottingham Forest ensured they pick up three vital points.
