Ex-Dundalk stars Daryl Horgan and Andy Boyle made their senior Ireland debuts this evening

Both players are now plying their trade with Preston North End.

DARYL HORGAN AND Andy Boyle made their senior international debuts this evening, during Ireland’s friendly against Iceland at the Aviva Stadium.

The pair, who transferred from Dundalk last December, were introduced just after the hour-mark.

They joined Brentford’s John Egan, and Conor Hourihane (Aston Villa) in making their bows for the senior national side, with Egan and Hourihane starting the game.

Both Horgan and Boyle were originally called up to the Ireland squad last November, ahead of a World Cup qualifier against Austria.

They impressed during their time at Dundalk, helping the club to three consecutive SSE Airtricity League Premier Division titles, an FAI Cup and an EA Sports Cup.

They also played instrumental roles in Dundalk’s memorable campaign in the Europa League.
