EUROPEAN PROFESSIONAL CLUB Rugby has stated Munster correctly followed the World Rugby Head Injury Assessment (HIA) protocol following an incident involving Conor Murry during their Champions Cup clash with Glasgow Warriors in January.
In the 62nd minute of the match, the Ireland scrum-half went to the ground following a tackle and was attended to by the Munster medical team. Following their on-pitch assessment, Murray returned to action.
The EPCR report found that the Munster medical team then used the MyPlayXPlay real-time video system to examine the incident, after which Murray was temporarily removed from the field of play.

After undergoing further a further HIA, Murray was cleared to return to play.
In a statement today, the EPCR said:
“After studying footage and documents submitted by Munster Rugby, the Review Group was satisfied, on the balance of probabilities, that Murray did not meet the criteria for immediate and permanent removal from the field of play.”
