Lallana the latest Liverpool star to commit his long-term future to the club

The midfielder has made 117 appearances for the club, scoring 20 goals.

ADAM LALLANA HAS become the second Liverpool player in as many months to commit his long-term future to the club.

It is believed the new deal will keep him with Liverpool until the 2020/21 campaign, with the club having the option to extend his contract by another year.

The 28-year-old signed with the Anfield outfit in June 2014 following a successful stint with Southampton and has managed 20 goals in 117 appearances.

The midfielder has been particularly impressive this season operating in an attacking role and received the England Player of the Year award in January following an online vote.

“I would say I feel in this moment like I’m playing as well as I ever have – and if that is the case of course the next challenge is to maintain or improve,” – Lallana told Liverpool’s official website.

“That is always the case at a club like this – you have to keep proving yourself and challenging yourself.

“I think my best years are still ahead of me because I feel so fresh and confident.

“Signing for a club like Liverpool is obviously a big thing – but to re-sign shows you’ve obviously contributed enough that the people who make the decisions want you to stay longer.

“This is a really good place to be at the moment and, for a player who wants to be part of something special, I can’t think of a better club to commit your future to.”

Lallana is the second player to commit to a long-term deal following Philippe Coutinho’s re-signing last month.
