CORK BOSS KIERAN Kingston has named an experimental side to face UCC in the annual Canon Michael O’Brien Cup on Friday night.
The Rebels face Kerry in the Munster senior hurling league two days later on Sunday and Kingston will likely make wholesale changes to the team for that local derby.
Tomorrow night, the likes of Patrick Collins, Conor Lehane and Daniel Kearney will make their seasonal debuts, while the team for Sunday’s clash against Kerry has yet to be named.
Alan Cadogan will be lining out for UCC against his county, while Michael Breen, Seamus Kennedy (both Tipperary), Jamie Barron, Tom Devine and Conor Gleeson (all Waterford) are all expected to start for the college outfit.

This is the fifth year the game will take place between Cork and UCC to honour the late, great Blackrock native Canon O’Brien, who managed the Rebels between 1983-85 and 89-93.
The giant of Cork hurling famously coached UCC to 10 Fitzgibbon Cup titles, including eight in-a-row in the 1980s.
The game throws in at the Mardyke GAA Grounds at 7pm.
