PADDY BARNES WILL take the next step in his professional career at Belfast’s Waterfront Hall next month.
The two-time Olympic medallist will fight on Jamie Conlan’s undercard on 18 February against a yet-to-be-named opponent.

Barnes, 29, will be hoping for a more routine victory this time around after his professional debut at the Titanic Exhibition Centre ended in bizarre circumstances — his opponent Stefan Slavchev being disqualified from their November bout for lifting the Belfast native over his head.

Conlan (18-0, 11KOs), the older brother of Barnes’ good friend and Olympic team-mate Michael, is building quite a reputation for himself on the pro circuit and is nearing a super flyweight title shot.
His opponent is also currently unknown.
Unbeaten light heavyweight Steven Ward (2-0) and featherweight Marco McCullough (16-3-0), two other Belfast natives, are also on the undercard.
