Schumacher’s manager Sabine Kehm released a statement today, outlining their intent to keep the details of Schumacher’s condition private, and thanked the fans for their continued understanding throughout this ordeal.
“Michael’s health is not a public issue, and so we will continue to make no comment in that regard. We have to protect his intimate sphere. Legally seen and in the longer term, every statement related to his health would diminish the extent of his intimate sphere.”
“Michael has always been very protective of his privacy, even during the most successful times of his career. He has always made sure there is a clear and distinct line between his public persona and his private one.”
Kehm previously spoke out against a German lifestyle magazine which incorrectly reported that his client was walking again, stating that those comments were raising ‘false hopes.’ At the time, Kehm emphasised how much Schumacher values his privacy.
Schumacher underwent surgery after the accident to have blood clots removed and was later placed in a drug-induced coma which he has since been taken out of.
