Showbiz, baby! Eamon Dunphy's new football podcast starts this Friday

The show’s teaser has already hit the top of the Irish iTunes podcast charts.

THE FIRST EPISODE of Eamon Dunphy’s new football podcast ‘The Stand’ is set to be released on Friday (25 November).

The renowned broadcaster and analyst hopes to cover Premier League, Champions League and international action, stories and controversies, giving reaction alongside guests.

The twice-weekly podcast will do exactly as it says on the website – “Covering all the angles, personalities and controversies in football. No holds barred, no punches pulled. Robust, intelligent and fun.”

The show will go online on Mondays and Fridays, with each episode lasting up to an hour.

The first teaser was released yesterday, and it went straight to the top of the iTunes sports podcast charts, as well as the number one podcast in Ireland.

Familiar panelists John Giles, Liam Brady and Didi Hamann are set to join Dunphy as regular contributors to the ‘The Stand’, having helped launch the podcast in Trinity College on Monday night.

“I hope it will be an intelligent, funny, irreverent, candid look at sport. That will be the aim,” Dunphy recently told TheJournal.ie.

“I’m very excited about it because I love radio. It’s a great medium and this is a great chance to talk at more length.”
