EIGHT-TIME ALL-Ireland winning Kilkenny forward Eddie Brennan has been appointed as the county’s new U21 manager.
While the Cats have won a record — along with Cork — 11 titles at this grade, their last Cross of Cashel Cup came back in 2008.

Since then they’ve lost two finals, both to Clare, and have failed to even reach the decider in the last three years.
Brennan — who won an U21 title as a player in 1999 — picked up the last of his eight Liam MacCarthy’s in 2011 and finished his playing career the following season.
A regular panellist on The Sunday Game, Brennan replaces Brian Ryan whose side lost to beaten All-Ireland finalists Wexford in the Leinster decider.
The 37-year old has some management experience having led Lisdowney to a junior county title in 2013.
