Holding a commanding 20-7 lead in the third quarter, Pittsburgh would fail to score again after Scobee shanked a 49-yard effort with two and a half minutes remaining that would have forced the Ravens to score a touchdown to win the game.
It looked like the former Jaguars kicker had earned a reprieve when Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco took a sack on fourth-and-10 with just over two minutes remaining.
The Steelers were unable to earn a first down and handed the ball to Scobee again. This time he missed from 41-yards.
With just seconds left in the game, Ravens kicker Justin Tucker showed Scobee how it should be done when he converted a 42-yard effort of his own to send the game to overtime.
After blowing their lead in regulation, the Steelers were in good position to win the game twice in overtime. However they failed on two different fourth down conversions in Ravens territory, deciding against giving Scobee a chance to redeem himself.
Up stepped Tucker again to nail a 52-yard effort and get the Ravens (1-3) season back on track while the Steelers slip to 2-2 knowing that, with a better kicker, they could well be 4-0.
