TOULON PICKED UP their first win of the Top 14 season with a 20-13 win over reigning champions Stade Francais last night.

The three-time European champions have had a stuttering start to the year — losing their first two games to Racing and Castres — as they struggle to cope with 20 of their players on international duty ahead of the World Cup.

It wasn’t easy though as, 15 minutes before kick-off, the lights went out leaving about one-third of the pitch in darkness.

However, referee Thomas Charabas decided the teams didn’t need all the lights and could play on anyway which made for an interesting spectacle:
