IRELAND ENJOYED A very successful morning at the World Rowing Championships in France today.
In the space of a little over twenty minutes this morning, not one but two Irish pairs qualified for next year’s Games in Rio.
First, Paul and Gary O’Donovan qualification with 0.28 seconds to spare thanks to a fifth place finish in the B Final of the Men’s Lightweight Double Sculls.
Minutes later, the Women’s pair of Claire Lambe and Sinead Jenning followed suit with a third place finish in their B final.

The duo had narrowly missed out on qualification on Thursday when they were beaten into fourth place in their semi-final.
