FORMER KERRY MANAGER Eamon Kelly is set to be appointed as the new Offaly senior hurling manager.
The Tipperary native enjoyed a fruitful spell in charge of the Kingdom winning two Allianz National Hurling League Division 2A titles before lifting the Christy Ring Cup this year.

Kelly also ensured Kerry would play in Division 1B in the 2016 season after they beat Antrim in a playoff this summer.
However, in July, Kelly called it a day with the Kingdom citing the four-hour round trip to training as one of the reasons for taking the decision.
His appointment as Offaly boss looks set to be ratified next week.

The Offaly hurlers have been on the look out for a new boss since Brian Whelehan stepped down in July following a first defeat to Laois in the Leinster Championship since 1972 and a heavy loss to Clare in the Qualifiers.
