10,000m runner learns the hard way why you should never celebrate too early

Molly Huddle missed out on a medal thanks to premature celebration.

THE WOMEN’S 10,000m was won by Vivian Cheruiyot of Kenya who beat Gelete Burka of Ethiopia with a strong performance over the last 400m.

However, the real drama came in the race for third when the USA’s Molly Huddle raised her arms in celebration only to be pipped on the line by her team-mate Emily Infield.
