Brilliant finishing and comical defending help Mexico to Gold Cup glory

Mexico beat Jamaica 3-1 in the final last night.

FOR 30 MINUTES on Sunday night, Jamaica looked to be making a game of the CONCACAF Gold Cup final as they help Mexico scoreless.

However, 26 seconds later Andres Guardado broke the deadlock with a sublime finish to put Mexico up 1-0, a lead they never looked like surrendering.

A minute after the re-start, the Jamaican defence was caught out again, this time Jesus Corona firing a low drive to the far post to double Mexico’s lead.

Thirty minutes from time, Oribe Peralta took advantage of comical defending inside the area to seal the win, despite Darren Mattocks’ consolation goal in the 80th minute.
