YOU PROBABLY NEVER expected to see the likes of DJ Carey, JJ Delaney, Tommy Walsh and Derek Lyng line up together on a Kilkenny team again, but that’s exactly what will happen at the end of the month when a host of former players take part in a charity game in Lisdowney.

The match, which throws-in at 6.30pm on Saturday 30 May, is being held as a fundraiser for Lisdowney GAA Club. Admission is €10 per person, under 16s are €5 and children under-12 go free.
“We have worked very hard over the past few weeks to secure this elite line-up of players,” said Tim Brennan, Chairman of Lisdowney GAA Club.
“We are very grateful to each of the players who are giving up their time. The idea of bringing in retired players from other counties to support our own successful Lisdowney team has added great interest also.
“It should be a lot of fun, but should also demonstrate to hurling fans the greatness and skill of all of these players. It really will be a who’s who of hurling in recent years.”
