Sexton and Bastareaud shared a moment after the game despite Johnny almost losing his head

The Irish out-half and the French centre hugged it out after the game.

JOHNNY SEXTON WAS under a lot of scrutiny in his first match back from concussion and after Mathieu Bastareaud’s big hit on the out-half things didn’t look good. Ironically, it was a tackle from Bastareaud in the corresponding fixture last year that also concussed Sexton so there was reason to fear for his health after the incident.

Many thought that the big centre would target Ireland’s out-half but Sexton didn’t seem to hold any grudge afterwards.

“I went up to Bastareaud after the game and said ‘why always me?’” Sexton said to RTE.

“He just laughed.”

Thankfully Sexton didn’t show any major signs of injury afterwards, even if he did look like Sylvester Stallone at the end of Rocky.
