When Juan Martin Hernandez passes like this, Toulon can unlock any defence in the world

If Toulon can get this production from a back-up, what chance do the rest of the teams have?

HE’S 32 AND has been operating at a reduced capacity for a few years now, but Juan Martin Hernandez showed over the weekend why he can be an effective asset for Toulon as they chase their third European Cup in-a-row.

Hernandez made his debut off the bench for the Galacticos last weekend, but got his first start at out-half in the win over Racing Metro on Saturday. Matt Giteau also returned from injury for Toulon and as you can see from the highlights, the duo combined to devastating effect in the south of France.

The offload from Hernandez in the build-up to the opening try was exquisite and it’s absurd that Toulon can replace James O’Connor with the Argentine great.

It is great to see the magician orchestrate things so beautifully once again. You could watch that little flick over the defender all day.
