THE LAST TIME most of us heard from Shane Williams, he was drafted into the Lions set-up in 2013 despite having retired from proper professional rugby a year earlier.
I say ‘proper’ professional rugby because Williams has been lining out on the wing for Japanese side Mitsubishi Dynaboars since 2012. Since most of us don’t have any way of watching the Japanese league, it is easy to assume that the heroes who go over there for the end of their careers are just counting their yen.
Well, these clips of Shane Williams say otherwise. Granted, the standard isn’t that of test rugby, but it still warms the heart to see that Williams’ frenetic feet can still bamboozle defenders after all these years.
He might be 37, but Shane Williams is still dancing around defenders down in Japan

Williams is actually joined at the Dynaboars by All Blacks World Cup hero, Stephen ‘Beaver’ Donald, but the best thing about the team is their crest.

It looks like one of Super Mario’s friends from those old N64 games.
On a semi-related note, here is Williams turning Bryan Habana inside-out back in 2008.
