Who knew O'Connell and Cudmore could stand together without beating the head off each other?

The two second rows shared a conciliatory moment after yesterday’s game.

OF ALL THE second rows Paul O’Connell has gone up against during his career, there are very few who he has as antagonistic a relationship with than Jamie Cudmore.

O’Connell and the Clermont second row have had a number of feisty exchanges over the years, with their fight in 2008 probably the highlight of their battles.

That was Cudmore at his worst but in fairness to the Canadian brute, he was actually excellent over the back-to-backs and delivered a few crunching hits on O’Connell.

After the game yesterday, the duo posed for this seemingly amicable photo.

What that photo likely omits is the two lads breaking their respective bottles over the other’s head.
