THE IRISH AMPUTEE Football squad will land in Mexico this week ahead of the 2014 World Cup and they’ve put together this promo with Roy Keane to help build support for their campaign.

The squad, who made headlines during the international break when founder Simon Baker interrupted a Keane press conference, have also engaged in a charity bet with sponsors Paddy Power.

The bookmaker is offering the Irish team odds of 50/1 to win the World Cup and 7/1 to get out of their group which contains Uzbekistan (the reigning world champions), Brazil (Copa America champions 2013), and Ukraine (ranked 8th in the world).

All proceeds from losing bets go to the Cappagh Hospital Foundation.

You can find out more details and follow the progress of the team here and, as Baker told TheScore.ie this week:

“Leg off, game on… we’re ready to play football.”
