Omagh will play Slaughtneil in the Ulster decider after the Derry side reached their first every SFC final with a 1-9 to 0-7 win over Clontibret in Healy Bark.
In a low-scoring first half, Slaughtneil led by two points at the break, 0-5 to 0-3, but took control of the game just two minutes after the restart when Christopher Bradley found the bottom corner to score the only goal of the game.
With dangerman Conor McManus held to just one point from play, the Monaghan champions couldn’t find the scores they needed to get back into the game and Slaughtneil ran out six point winners, 1-9 to 0-7.
Elsewhere, David Fogarty’s late score secured the Wexford SFC title for St Anne’s this afternoon with a 1-6 to 0-8 win over Gusserane.
It is a fifth county title of St Anne’s for whom Sean Gaul found the back of the net eight minutes into the second half.
