The All Blacks were visited by rugby legend and MND sufferer Joost van der Westhuizen

The AB’s met the former scrum-half at their training ground this week.

FORMER SOUTH AFRICAN scrum-half Joost van der Westhuizen was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2011 and is now confined to a wheelchair. The All Blacks are in South Africa for their Rugby Championship clash against the Springboks this weekend, and met up with the rugby legend.

It is very sad to see what has happened to van der Westhuizen, who is unquestionably one of the all-time great scrum-halfs.

Here he is doing the impossible in 1995, tackling the man-mountain Jonah Lomu in the World Cup final.
