Poll: Was Sean Cavanagh right to foul Conor McManus?

Was he right to commit the cynical foul that has caused such controversy.

THE BIG TALKING point of this weekend’s All Ireland Senior Football Championship action, aside from Mayo’s rout of Donegal, was undoubtedly Sean Cavanagh’s rugby style tackle on Monaghan’s Conor McManus when the forward looked through on goal.

Since the Tyrone midfielder made the tackle, and received a yellow card for his troubles, it seems as if everyone has had something to say on the matter.

Joe Brolly was more vocal than most when he launched a stunning tirade against Tyrone and their tactics. In his column on TheScore.ie Monday, Ciaran Murphy was a bit more pragmatic saying that Cavanagh just did what any player in that situation would.
