Poll: Have drug scandals changed how you watch sport?

Despite the Lance Armstrong revelations, viewership of this year’s Tour de France is up 50%

LAST YEAR, WHEN Lance Armstrong – still viewed as a hero by millions – was exposed as a drug cheat, many thought it would sound the death knell for professional cycling.

However, according to Eurosport, viewership of the opening stages of this year’s Tour de France was at it’s highest in six years and up an incredible 50% on last year.

This is good news for the organisers of the Athletics World Championships who were dealt a considerable blow when news emerged that two of the world’s top sprinters – Asafa Powell and Tyson Gay – would not be taking part having tested positive for performance enhancing drugs.

So, the question we’re asking you today is:

Will doping revelations ever stop you watching sports?
