MONAGHAN KEPT THEIR promotion push alive with a 10-point win over Armagh in National Football League Division 2 this evening.
Malachy O’Rourke’s side reeled off nine unanswered points to start the game and Armagh’s cause wasn’t helped when Jamie Clarke saw his penalty tipped onto the post by Rory Beggan.

But Armagh dug in and by half-time they had cut that deficit to four, trailing 0-10 to 0-6 at the break.
When Caolan Rafferty pointed 10 minutes into the second half, that gap was cut to the minimum but it was as close as Paul Grimley’s side would get.
A second yellow card for Andy Mallon saw them reduced to 14 men and Conor McManus and Jack McCarron — who combined for 13 points — continued to pick off scores before Darren Hughes fired home a goal late on.
The win sees Monaghan join Donegal on seven points, although the league leaders can pull clear again if they beat Down tomorrow.
Laois 1-10 Meath 0-15
Meath outscored Laois by 10 points to three in the second half as they came from behind to win in O’Moore Park this evening.
Ross Munnelly’s penalty on the stroke of half-time sent the O’Moores in at the break five points to the good, 1-7 to 0-5.
But Meath responded with four straight points at the start of the second half and then edged in front inside the final 15 minutes through a Mickey Newman point from play.
Laois levelled it again at 1-9 to 0-12 but late scores from David Bray, Bryan Menton and Graham Reilly, as well as an excellent save from Paddy O’Rourke to deny Colm Begley, were enough to guarantee the points for Mick O’Dowd’s men.
