Disappointment for Premier League clubs as eye-catching Polish striker remains at Ajax

Arkadiusz Milik had been the subject of interest from Everton and Napoli.

HE SCORED SIX times during Euro 2016 qualifying and added another during the summer tournament but Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik has not been seduced by the prospect of a move to the Premier League.

Ajax have announced that the 22-year-old is staying with the Dutch club, despite a number of clubs chasing his signature.

After missing out on Graziano Pelle, Everton boss Ronald Koeman was keen on bringing Milik to Goodison Park while Napoli were also interested.

He hit 21 league goals for Ajax last term and finally found settled form in Amsterdam having struggled for consistency at Bayer Leverkusen.

He joined the German club in 2012 but then had loan spells at Augsburg and Ajax before signing a permanent deal with Ajax last year.
