Ardscoil Rís (Limerick) 2-19
Our Lady’s Templemore (Tipperary) 1-8
MUNSTER GAA’s 2013 young hurler of the year Ronan Lynch led the rout as Ardscoil Rís hammered Our Lady’s, Templemore, in this afternoon’s Harty Cup quarter-final at MacDonagh Park, Nenagh.
Lynch, a member of the Limerick team that won last year’s provincial minor crown, scored 0-12 as Ardscoil advanced to a last four showdown with Dungarvan CBS or Hamilton High School, Bandon.
Na Piarsaigh star Lynch displayed his full range of skills as he landed eight points from frees, three from play and a superb sideline cut in the second half to crown his display.
Micheal O’Loughlin was another to impress at corner forward as he landed 1-3 from play and Lynch’s namesake Cian (no relation), a fellow member of last year’s Limerick minor team, raised three white flags with points from play.
Templemore, who last year’s semi-final replay between the sides, had no answers as Ardscoil ran out winners by 14 points.
At half-time, breeze-assisted Ardscoil led by 2-11 to 1-4, with Colin Crehan and O’Loughlin striking for goals within three minutes of each other.
Templemore’s leading scorer Tommy Nolan netted before half-time but the 1978 competition winners played second fiddle throughout against Ardscoil, who claimed back to back titles in 2010 and 2011.

Just to let you know dungarvan cbs are not the holders of the Harty cup as it was “Dungarvan colleges” who won the Harty cup last year. This is a combination of dungarvan cbs & Augustine’s college dungarvan. They were not allowed join together this year as they had won it for the last 2 years
Another positive story for limerick hurling, doon cbs in the other semi pairing, do we dare to dream that in the not to distant future, we might see Liam McCarthy in limerick.
Any chance you could put the clubs of the players in the report please?
Ye can dream all ye like
We’d never hear the end of it if they won it..be worse than england winning the world cup..long may the drought last, up tipp!
Bitter much?
I think 9 of the starting 15 were from Limerick and 6 from Clare – bodes well for talent coming through in both counties…When I was in school in Limerick many years ago, there was no Harty team – all rugby and now we have 3 Harty teams..Hopefully this will continue….Na Piarsaigh have serious talent coming through – Ronan Lynch will be some addition to their senior squad!
