IT WAS A month when Arsenal’s title challenge fell by the wayside but the gap between Leicester City and Tottenham closed to the extent that the Premier League race is far from over.
The Foxes had the chance to open up a 10-point gap but needed a last-gasp penalty to rescue a point at West Ham and must plan for life without Jamie Vardy for some of the home stretch.
Spurs know they’ll have to keep winning to remain in the hunt but, with a slightly easier run-in, the fans of the North London outfit can certainly still dream of a first top flight title since 1961.
At the other end of the table, Aston Villa became the first club to suffer relegation while they’ll be joined by two from Norwich, Newcastle and Sunderland.
Here are some of our favourite moments from this month…
7. Not the time to jacket in
With his team 1-0 down at the time, West Ham manager Slavan Bilic was clearly feeling the heat against Leicester as he took off his suit jacket and put it around the shoulders of fourth official Robert Madley.

It worked too as the Hammers almost snatched all three points only to concede a late, late equaliser.
6. In Maur-ning at that miss
In the end it didn’t matter as Spurs would cruise to a 4-0 win over Stoke but the reaction of manager Mauricio Pochettino to his team’s unbelievable miss when it looked far easier to score shows just how tense it is at the top.
5. I’ll Ibe back!
Why the Liverpool squad are attempting to re-interpret famous lines from movies, we’ve no idea.
However, we’re sure that you’re not living your best life until you’ve heard Jordan Henderson deliver the ‘we’re going to need a bigger boat’ line from Jaws in his Sunderland accent.
After Robbie Brady shoved DeAndre Yedlin off the pitch during Norwich and Sunderland’s relegation six-pointer, Black Cats boss Sam Allardyce was caught up in a scuffle with Cameron Jerome.
While it all came to nothing, hearing it described as a scene from Gladiator makes it much more dramatic.
2. What trickery is this?
The secret to Crystal Palace avoiding relegation was revealed this month.
Either Alan Pardew has cloned himself or the former Newcastle manger has mastered the secrets of time-travel as he managed to be both on the touchline and in the stands during his side’s draw with Arsenal.

1. You only sing (like a canary) when you’re winning
It could well be the goal that keeps Norwich in the Premier League and their fans’ reaction to Martin Olsson’s late winner against Newcastle at the start of April sums up just what it means to be a football fan.

4. Get Smart
One thing’s for certain, assistant referee Eddie Smart was more pumped up for Manchester United’s trip to White Hart Lane than the visitors were.
Before Spurs cruised to a 3-0 win, Smart spotted the TV camera in the tunnel and made sure fans at home knew just how ready for the game he was.
3. Allardyce or nothing
