AP McCoy 'breathing and conscious' after heavy Cheltenham fall

The champion jockey was partnering Quantitativeeasing this afternoon.

TONY MCCOY IS being treated in hospital this evening for a suspected chest injury after he took a heay fall at Cheltenham.

The champion jockey was hurt when Quantitativeeasing fell at the second in the Barbury International Horse Trials Handicap.

“Tony McCoy has movement in all his limbs, is conscious and breathing,” Simon Claisse, clerk of the course said.

After receiving treatment on the course, McCoy was brought to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, where he will stay overnight before hoping to recover in time for next week’s Punchestown Festival.
