Antrim to play Wexford while Laois face Galway following Leinster SHC action today

Paul Shiels was the hero on the day, claiming 0-9 and inspiring his side’s fightback.

ANTRIM SECURED A surprise win today, beating Laois 0-22 to 0-20 to set up a Leinster Senior Hurling Championship quarter-final encounter with Wexford on 1 June.

The result also means Laois will face Galway on the same day in Portlaoise.

Having trailed 0-12 to 0-8 at half-time, Antrim produced an excellent second-half performance to stun their opponents.

Paul Shiels was the hero on the day, claiming 0-9 and inspiring Antrim’s fightback in the process.

There was drama late on when Eoin Reilly missed a penalty, as Laois failed to secure the draw that was needed to earn top spot in their group.
