CARLOW ARE IN search of a new football manager, as Anthony Rainbow has informed the County Board that he will not be extending his two year stay in the county.
The former Kildare All-Star half-back had a frustrating 2014, with two heavy defeats to Meath and Clare, as well as having to contend without star midfielder Brendan Murphy all year.
Carlow County Chairman Michael Meaney has said he: “would like to thank Anthony for his total commitment to the squad and to Carlow over the past two years, results may not have gone our way but it wasn’t for the want of trying on Anthony’s part.
“He is a very genuine guy and a true gentleman and I wish him all the best in the future.’
Carlow finished bottom of this year’s Division 4 this year. And a promising result in their first round qualifier game with Waterford in late June came between heavy defeats to Meath (7- 13 to 0 -6) and Clare (4 -26 to 2 -13).
