Anthony Joshua confirms he will fight Tyson Fury in 2018

In an interview with Talksport, the current world heavyweight title holder announced his plans.

ANTHONY JOSHUA SAYS he plans to fight Tyson Fury in 2018.

In an interview with Talksport, the current world heavyweight title holder announced his plans to fight Fury, who gave up the belt in 2016 in order to focus on his medical treatment and recovery after testing positive for cocaine.

Fury previously announced on Twitter that he would be involved in three “big fights” next year, and Joshua confirmed he would be one of his fellow British fighter’s opponents in 2018.

“We speak man,” Joshua said. “Not like talk: ‘What’s happening mate.’ It’s: ‘I’m going to knock you out, trust me.’ Me and him will get down and dirty real soon, it’s just fighting talk.

“I’ve managed to contact him – he’s managed to contact me and everything you probably see on social is the same thing that happens behind the scenes.”

Before then, Joshua is set to fight France’s Carlos Takam, after his original opponent, Kubrat Pulev of Bulgaria, pulled out of a planned bout with a damaged shoulder.

IBF and WBA heavyweight world title holder Joshua will face Takam on 28 October at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
