FANCY AN EXTRA £7,000 to see you through the Christmas?
One punter did — and so they staked an eye-watering £100,000 on Anthony Joshua to win tomorrow night’s heavyweight boxing cracker.
Joshua is the red-hot favourite to defeat Dillian Whyte and add the British and Commonwealth Heavyweight titles to the tinsel on his Christmas tree.
William Hill reported a single bet of £100,000 on the undefeated Olympic champion at odds of 1/14, which will be worth £107, 142 if Joshua wins.
But over 77% of all bets have been placed on Whyte to cause an upset at odds of 8/1.
“There’s a clear divide between punters on who they think will win,” a spokesman said.
“The big punters are lumping on AJ, while the man on the street is plunging on Whyte.”
