COMETH SPURS’ HOUR of need, cometh Gareth Bale — again.
Who else?
The newly-crowned PFA Player of the Year saved the day with this late winner to down Southampton and keep Spurs hot on Arsenal’s heels in the race for the Champions League places.
With four minutes left on the clock, Bale cut in from the right wing and held off Luke Shaw before thumping his shot past a helpless Artur Boruc.
The win moves Tottenham into fourth place, a point above Arsenal with three games remaining for both sides.
Spurs’ stay in the Champions League places could be shortlived though as Arsenal could move back above them with a win against relegated QPR in the evening’s late kick-off.
