KERRY WILL HAVE to begin preparations for their All-Ireland SFC Quarter-Final without captain Colm Cooper.
“The Gooch” injured his ankle while training with Dr. Crokes last Thursday, though he insisted on lining out for the Killarney club at the weekend nonetheless.
Jack O’Connor and the Kingdom backroom staff became aware of the injury when Cooper reported for inter-county training on Tuesday night and have told him to rest up until the end of next week.
The measure is thought to be precautionary, however, with Cooper expected to be fully fit in time for Kerry’s next Championship game which will take place over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
