IRELAND’S NEWEST WORLD boxing champion Andy Lee touched down to a hero’s welcome on Wednesday afternoon.
Lee became the first Irishman to win a world title in America when he stopped Matt Korobov in the sixth round of their WBO middleweight decider in Las Vegas.
The pride of Castleconnell was greeted by his mother Ann as he arrived back to Shannon Airport with trainer Adam Booth.

Lee will have an official homecoming at Limerick’s City Hall at 5.30pm.
