Andy Keogh hits out at Trap loyalty on Twitter

The Millwall striker was left out of the Ireland squad for next month’s games against Sweden and Austria.

ANDY KEOGH SPARKED another player row with Giovanni Trapattoni after he accused the Ireland manager of having no loyalty.

Keogh took to Twitter this morning and said he was “gutted” to miss out on next month’s make-or-break World Cup qualifiers.

The striker, who grabbed a late equaliser for Millwall against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, was left out in the cold when Trap named his 29-man squad for the games against Sweden and Austria.

Instead the Italian stuck by Paddy Madden as one of six strikers in the group which will link up in Malahide on Sunday morning.

Keogh tweeted: “Not even in the provisional squad, gutted, oh well might get called in last minute! #noloyalty”

Captain Robbie Keane, Shane Long, Jon Walters, Simon Cox and Conor Sammon are Trap’s other attacking options for the games on 6 and 10 September.

UPDATE: 12.00

Keogh has taken to Twitter again in an effort to clarify that he is not moaning, but disappointed to be left out of the squad without the courtesy of a phone call by way of explanation.
