And it's off... Chepstow postpones Welsh National meeting

The jumps showpiece has been rescheduled for 5 January following further rain at the Welsh course.

THURSDAY’S WELSH NATIONAL meeting at Chepstow has been postponed due to a waterlogged course.

Officials inspected the Monmouthshire track this afternoon after conditions worsened following heavy rain overnight.

With further bad weather forecast in the coming days, the decision was taken to abandon the meeting and reschedule it for Saturday 5 January.

Tickets bought for Thursday’s meeting will be refunded or can be transferred for use on the new date.

Le Beau Bai, winner of last year’s Welsh National, was ruled out of the jumps showpiece last week after he injured himself on the gallops.
