CHRISTMAS HAS COME and the Premier League certainly delivered a few presents for us this month.
In the most bizarre first half to a season quite possibly ever, Leicester went top, reigning champions Chelsea hovered above the relegation zone and Man United were outplayed by Bournemouth and Norwich.
So here are our favourite moments from this crazy Premier League month…
“It was a laceration of the penis… A big laceration of the penis.” Cue: unsympathetic studio laughter. “It didn’t look great,” added the Liverpool legend, of a particularly unfortunate injury he picked up against Bournemouth. We’re sure it didn’t, Steven.
A nasty challenge from the corner flag took out Belgian international Kevin De Bruyne during the recent Arsenal-Man City game. Incredibly, the flag didn’t even pick up a booking for this unsavoury challenge.
Safe to say Man United fan and cult figure Andy Tate is not impressed by Louis “absolutely useless” Van Gaal, or his underperforming players. No stranger to caustic rants, Tate also took aim at Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial.
It’s set to be an enjoyable month for one punter in particular, after he audaciously bet on Leicester being top of the Premier League at Christmas. His prediction came true, and he earned a not-too-shabby £5,000. Not bad, considering it was an initial £5 bet.
2. Michael’s malfunction
Appearing ‘Fletch and Sav,’ BT Sport pundit Michael Owen didn’t have the best of days earlier this month. First, he did this…

The former Liverpool striker went on to make our favourite bit of analysis so far this season. Of Man City’s recents failings, he pointed out: “When they don’t score, they hardly ever win.” Wise words, Michael.

Anger management classes for Alan Hutton? A Daniel O’Donnell CD for Ciaran Clark? Santa was very kind to Aston Villa’s players this Christmas (warning: video contains lengthy scenes of loud, high-pitched screaming).
