THERE’S JUST THREE former Allstar winners nominated for positions in the football full-back line in the 2013 awards.
Kerry’s Marc Ó Sé is the standout nominee having won awards in 2006, 2007 and 2011.
While Mayo duo Keith Higgins and Ger Cafferkey both won awards last year.
Their Mayo teammate Chris Barrett is also in the running this year while Dublin’s Rory O’Carroll is the only member of the All-Ireland champions side nominated in the inside defensive rearguard.
Ulster champions Monaghan have two nominees in Colin Walshe and Drew Wylie. Tyrone’s Cathal McCarron and Cavan’s Killian Clarke are also in the running.
But who do you think should win an award? Let us know.

Keith Higgins a stone wall certainty in this line. Second best footballer in the country behind Colm Cooper and was outstanding in every game this season. Can also play in almost any position on the field. The complete modern day footballer.
Colin Walshe will probably get one here too, and at full back its a toss up between ROC and Cafferkey, with the fact that Dublin won Sam shading it towards O Carroll.
Barrett was fantastic until the final, where he was a bit quieter than previous games while still doing ok on Paddy Andrews but probably not enough for an AllStar.
Has to be Rory O Carroll for me. He has played 4 seasons and nominated every season but never got it
Its about time he got it
Rory O Carroll got roasted in the quarter and semi finals against Cork and Kerry.Dublins full back line was their biggest weakspot.Surely the 3 will be Keith Higgins. Colin Walshe and Cafferky
And he got brought to the cleaners by Meath in the Leinster Final too!
Roasted!
How much did walsh and o sullivan/donaghy get on him. He kept mr moran quite enough in final
That’d be the same Mr.Moran that scored 1-2 from play against him?
Rory the eye-gouger O’Carroll
Roasted?? V kerry his man was taken off and his replacement fared no better .13-D-SAM
yeah, poor cooper, what a legend, playing very well in the club championship yet he only has one eye.
ROC is a legend 2 all irelands and still only 22 gr8 this year ask dec osullivan .donkey donahey or alan freeman.unlike butter fingers clafferky who set up diarmo for a lovely point and let berno help himself to two culs
For Mr Morans goal u would say cluxton was at fault for goal. U dont win 2 all irelands in 3 years with a poor full back. If he wasnt rated why was he nominated every year since he started senior
Walshe, O’Carroll, Higgins
