Kilkenny's Richie Hogan wins All-Ireland hurling final man of the match

The Danesfort man’s performance in today’s game was rewarded.

RICHIE HOGAN HAS been named as the man of the match for the All-Ireland SHC final after an impressive showing in Kilkenny’s draw with Tipperary in Croke Park today.

Having started the game in midfield, the Danesfort man was moved into the half-forward line in a bid to swing the game in Kilkenny’s direction and, with six points from play, it’s a move that paid dividends.

With many believing Hogan is a shoe-in for the Hurler of the Year award, this accolade from The Sunday Game will do his bid no harm at all.

Hogan was named man of the match ahead of Tipperary duo John ‘Bubbles’ O’Dwyer and Cathal Barrett.

It’s a decision that readers of TheScore.ie agree with. As of 9pm this evening, Hogan was leading our post-game poll.
