Tale of two cities as Dublin and Cork to meet in hurling and football showdowns

This is gonna be interesting.

DUBLIN AND CORK ARE set to meet in both senior hurling and football All-Ireland championships on consecutive weekends next month.

The Rebel County’s hurlers dumped Kilkenny out of the race for the Liam MacCarthy this afternoon with a shock last-eight win in Thurles.

Jimmy Barry Murphy’s young side will now face Leinster champions Dublin on 11 August at Croke Park in an intriguing semi-final.

Limerick — winners in Munster — play Clare, who beat Galway today on 18 August.

The hurling pairing of Cork and Dublin will follow next week’s meeting of the counties at GAA HQ in the All-Ireland SFC quarter-final.
