New Zealand website URL changed to wwwwwwwwwwwwww.allblacks.com

The extra ‘w’s’ signify the All Blacks’ 14 successive wins in 2013.

THE NEW ZEALAND Rugby Union was more than happy to give the go-ahead for a brief but triumphant URL change of their national team’s official website.

The All Blacks website now features 14 ‘w’s’ after Steve Hansen’s men defeated Ireland at Lansdowne Road on Sunday to finish 2013 on a 14-game winning streak.

For 79 and a half minutes yesterday, it seemed that Ireland would deny the Kiwi’s their 14th win and a piece of professional rugby history. The world champions kept their attacking composure, however, and scored a try in the corner before out-half Aaron Cruden converted to clinch victory by a score of 24-22.

All Blacks captain Richie McCaw paid credit to his teammates for maintaining their belief throughout despite falling behind 19-0 after 19 minutes of the match.
